Nurse Talk 111: What Nurses aren’t Saying Out Loud

Do you feel alone?

What nurses aren’t saying out loud

You Are Not Alone: Even if it feels that way!

Something happened at a recent nurse practitioner conference that’s been sitting on my heart ever since.

I met a woman sitting alone, laptop open, doing that quiet kind of multitasking we all know too well. Her eyes were focused, but her posture? It said everything else.

I asked gently, “Are you working right now?”

She gave a tired smile. “Yeah… just trying to catch up between sessions.”

We talked for a few minutes. About being a newer NP. About that weird, unspoken pressure to look like you’ve got it all together. About the imposter syndrome that hums in the background like white noise.

Then I asked her:

“How are you really doing?”

She paused. Looked up.

And then she said:

“Honestly? I just feel so alone…Trying to figure out what’s going on with my patients. Like I’m missing something I should already know.”

I looked at her and said:

“You know where you are right now, right?”

She nodded. “At the conference.”

“Exactly. You’re surrounded by over 400 other NPs. Someone here has been exactly where you are and probably has the answer.

You’re not alone.”

She exhaled. Really exhaled.

Laughed softly. Closed her laptop.

And walked back into the crowd.

I never saw her again.

But I hope…more than clinical takeaways or CEUs,

she left with a deeper reminder:

✨ You were never meant to carry all of this alone. ✨

Because here’s the truth, most nurses never say out loud:

It’s not just about charting, protocols, or long shifts.

It's loneliness.

Even surrounded by colleagues, even with a badge and a calling…

That quiet voice still whispers:

“You should have figured this out by now.”

We carry clinical pressure on one shoulder.

And emotional weight on the other.

Somewhere in the doing… We forget we’re human, too.

That’s why we built Advancing Nurse Coaching.

Not just to offer continuing education or certifications.

But to create a space for nurses to:

✅ Slow down

✅ Reconnect with their own wisdom

✅ Lead from clarity…not pressure

This work is grounded in the Three Principles:

🌀 Mind – the deep intelligence beneath the noise

🌀 Consciousness – our moment-to-moment awareness

🌀 Thought – the stories we carry and the ones we can let go of

This is more than a mindset.

It’s soul-level realignment.

If you’ve been quietly wondering…

“Is there more I’m meant to give…or receive?”

There is.

But it doesn’t begin with another credential.

It starts with one breath. One pause. One moment of being seen.

You are not alone.

Not anymore.

Warmly,

💜 Teresa

P.S. If this story resonated, hit reply.

Tell me where you are right now…mentally, emotionally, soulfully.

I read every message.

We’re rewriting what nursing can feel like…together.
